Booking Your Place

What if I am not sure yet whether I will attend?

As long as you feel that you would like the opportunity to attend the graduation, please accept the invitation before the deadline on 31 July 2012. If subsequently you discover you are not able to attend, you can then inform us and we will then reallocate your tickets. All students who have not replied by 31 July will have their degree awarded in absentia and will receive their degree certificate by post in December.

I do not finish until next year. Why have I received a Graduation Invitation?

If you feel you have received an invitation in error please contact us on 01904 876846 to discuss your student record.

I am unsure what my invitation status is. How do I check?

You can you can check the status of your invitation by logging onto e:Vision and clicking the graduation ceremony link.

What happens if I have deferred assessments and special arrangements have been made for me to complete my studies by September 2012?

Provided that your deferred assessments are completed by the end of August and your results are processed through the September Assessment Panels and Board of Examiners, you will be able to attend the November ceremony. If your results are finalised later, you will either have to receive your award in absentia or wait until next year's ceremony. However, you must still respond to your invitation and request your guest tickets by the deadline of 31 July 2012.

What if I am a postgraduate student and submit my dissertation after the Summer?

Please contact us, as we normally only guarantee a place for students whose results can be ratified by the Board of Examiners at its meeting on the 07th September 2012.  Please bear in mind that all postgraduate dissertations have to be double marked and moderated and then are sent to the External Examiner.  Therefore many postgraduate results are not confirmed until the December Board unless a special arrangement has been made for a specific programme of study. If you are in any doubt contact the Ceremonies office.  Please be aware we cannot be held liable for costs such as flights/accommodation/ gowns if you book these in advance and are unsuccessful in gaining your final degree

If you are in any doubt please contact Registry via DegreeCeremonies@yorksj.ac.uk or 01904 876846..

When and how do I get my final exam results?

All award results will be made available on e:Vision from Monday 09  July 2012. All examination results will also be posted first class to home addresses during the week beginning 09 July 2012.  Results approved by the September Board of Examiners will be available from Monday 12 September.

What if I have any disability requirements?

If you or your guests have any special needs which will make access to the graduation ceremonies difficult, please indicate this on your reply form or contact Registry via DegreeCeremonies@yorksj.ac.uk or 01904 876846.

If I have any debts to the University, will I still be able to attend the ceremony?
