York St John University has adopted electronic assignment
submission, marking and feedback for all appropriate text-based
assignments. The following documents provide further
information

-
Principles of electronic assignment submission, marking and
feedback, January 2012 [MS WORD, January 2012, 1.5MB]
There are two suggested ways of getting started
with electronic assignment submission and feedback. Both are
managed through our VLE, Moodle.
Option 1. Using the 'Advanced upload
of assignments' activity in Moodle
THIS IS A
GOOD CHOICE IF...
- you want to download and mark assignments
offline (e.g at home or on your laptop computer)
- you want to return annotated assignments
for students to view
- you want to provide your feedback in an
alternative way, such as using an audio or video recording

Option 2. Using TurnitinUK and
'Grademark'
THIS IS A GOOD CHOICE IF...
you want plagiarism reports on your students' work
- you are happy to mark and manage
assignments entirely online
- you have access to a reliable and fast
internet connection
NB: With this option, you cannot
download and manage the assignments offline.
