1. Can I get Wimba Create on my home
computer?
Yes, our campus licence means that staff and students are
licensed to download and install Wimba Create on home computers.

2. Where can I download Wimba Create
from?
You can download Wimba Create from http://www.wimba.com/products/wimba_create/campus.
This will give you the Campus Edition version of
the software. There are further steps to follow in order to

3. How do I get Wimba Create on my
personal computer/laptop?
YSJU's campus licence covers all staff and students for use of
the Wimba Create software on their home computers. Follow the steps
below to install and register Wimba Create on your own
computer.
- Step 1. Download the Campus
Edition install files to a temporary folder (we suggest your
'My Documents' or Desktop).
- Step 2. Run SetupWCr2-5.exe and follow the on-screen
instructions.
- Step 3. During install enter the
YSJU license code details.
(NB. When clicking on the link above, you will be asked to
enter your regular university username and password.)
- You will now be able to launch Microsoft Word with a
fully registered version of Wimba Create.
- To launch Wimba Create from Word, go to Tools > Start Wimba
Create.

4. Do I have to pay anything to use it
at home?
No you don't! The University has purchased a perpetual campus
licence, which allows all YSJU staff and students to download,
install and register the full version of Wimba Create at no
cost.

5. Why does it have two names; Course
Genie and Wimba Create?
Some people refer to ‘Course Genie’ and others, ‘Wimba Create’.
This confusion stems from a situation where the application which
was originally called Course Genie, was bought out by Wimba and
re-branded to ‘Wimba Create’. Wimba maintain this name in all of
their material (print and web). What you need to know is that
whatever you call it, both are exactly the same things.
