Welcome

My name is Chloe Thomas. I am the International Student Support Officer and my role is to support all international students during your time at York St John. I start by making contact with students after they have received offers to study here, and I am then one of the main points of contact as you prepare to travel to the UK and to York. I can help with Pre-Arrival information, visa & immigration questions, social activities on campus, Welcome Week events, and many other things!

I will be here when you arrive at York St John during January Welcome Week (21 - 25 January 2013 for Semester 2 starters). I will be handing out Arrival Packs to all new international and exchange students, so you can meet me then and ask me any questions you may have. Normally I am based in the Holgate building and you can ask to see me at the Student Advice Desk, but I will also be around campus and present at many of your Welcome Week sessions so there will be lots of opportunities to speak to me about any questions or concerns as you settle into UK life.

One of the most important parts of my job is to help you to get the most out of your time at York St John. I work with the Global Friends group, the Students' Union, and many other University teams to make sure that there are plenty of social events and plenty of support for students.

I look forward to meeting all of you soon.

Best wishes,

Chloe Thomas - International Student Support Officer
