The building, which was designed by leading architect Charles Thomson of Rivington Street Studio Architects in London, blends a range of forms, styles and high quality materials, and incorporates a pair of Georgian style listed buildings, to create a dynamic and strong visual statement for both the city and for York St John. The complex design also meets modern standards for energy efficiency, environmental quality and sustainability.
De Grey Court provides high quality learning spaces for the University, particularly for the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences and also for York St John Business School. Amongst its facilities the building houses a 150 seat lecture theatre, boardroom, seminar and teaching spaces, specialist teaching environments, postgraduate centre and offices.
