Honorary Degrees and Fellowships: nominations

Honorary degrees are awarded to persons of distinction who have made a major contribution and earned national and international distinction in their field, in activities concerning their profession, the advancement of learning, the arts or public affairs. Nominees often (but not always) have an existing connection with York St John University or the local area.

Nominations are invited all year round.

Nominees for award in 2017 may be made up until Thursday 5 January 2017.

Those making nominations should bear in mind in the University's Equality, Diversity and Human Rights policy, as we seek to reflect the diversity of the wider community through the awards we make.

Nominations should be submitted through the Head of School/Service using the relevant form and sent to the Committee of Honorary Degrees & Fellowships c/o Zoe Wilde on E: z.wilde@yorksj.ac.uk

Nominations will be considered and approved by the Committee on Honorary Degrees and Fellowships. All nominations will be treated confidentially. The Committee will contact individual nominees as necessary.
