Higher Education Achievement Report

(HEAR)

HEAR Section 6.1

The Higher Education Achievement Report, or HEAR, is a student achievement record that will replace the existing transcript and subsume the diploma supplement.

Activities are approved through panel meetings; if you would like to submit an activity for inclusion you will find further information and forms by acsessing the 'HEAR for Staff' link below.

You will see from the example HEAR (Sample HEAR for Students (PDF, 607.0KB)) that it contains detail about the programme a student has studied such as modules, individual marks. It also has a specific section, 6.1, that can be used to document the following:

  • Additional award gained outside the academic programme that do not contribute to a student’s credit e.g. an employability award.
  • Additional activities e.g. SU representation as a programme rep, participation in the students as researchers scheme, representing YSJU in sport etc.
  • University prizes.

The HEAR, therefore, gives a more holistic view of the student experience for prospective employers. For further general information and guidance please access the HEAR website.
