Campus and facilities
The Creative Centre
We’re putting creativity at the heart of our campus with the opening of our new Creative Centre in September 2021.
In September 2021 we will open the doors to our new Creative Centre. Spanning 3 floors, this purpose-built creative space will contain a 210-seat theatre and new teaching facilities for our creative and computing courses.
The Creative Centre will become the permanent new home for our music and computer science courses. It will also contain specialist spaces for theatre, drama, creative writing and media production students.
The centrepiece of the Creative Centre is 210-seat theatre. The theatre will host live performances from our students, community events and high profile conferences.
Computer science facilities
A whole floor in the Creative Centre will provide the latest high-specification hardware for computer science, software engineering and games development in purpose-built teaching rooms. Working with the Institute of Technology for Yorkshire and the Humber, we will deliver teaching and research side-by-side.
Music and performance space
The Creative Centre will become the new home of music courses at York St John. Music students will have access to specialist teaching spaces and acoustically-protected practice and performance rooms.
