Clearing for international students
How to apply to study at York St John through Clearing if you are an international student.
If you’re an international student and have your results, it’s an exciting time!
You can apply for your space at York St John University from 5 July 2022, through our Clearing process.
There are two ways international students can apply to study with us through Clearing:
Applying through an agent
We work with some wonderful education agents to help support you in your application process.
If you are applying through Clearing from India, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, or Sri Lanka, please be aware that we can only accept applications from a region-specific recruitment agency. You can visit your country page for more information:
If you are applying on UCAS through an agent and you want them to phone us about your Clearing application, you will need to add them as your nominated contact on UCAS. We cannot give them information about you and your situation without your permission.
We accept a range of international qualifications. Search for your country for advice on what qualifications we consider:
English language requirements
If English is not your first language you must have a recognised English language test or qualification.
If you don’t meet the requirements for entry directly onto our degree courses, you may wish to consider our Foundation Courses, which after completion lead on to one of our bachelor’s degree courses.
We have several scholarships available to our international students. These include a scholarship of £1,000 for all undergraduate (year 1 entry, in-country) fee-paying international students at our York campus. You could also be eligible for a scholarship up to £3,750 per year if you apply to some of our courses. Find out more on our Scholarships page.
We know that arriving in a new country is a big deal and we will be here to support you right from the beginning. We offer a free Manchester Airport collection service for key dates in September, a taxi pick-up from York Station, and much more. Our Welcome Week begins on Monday 19 September and term officially begins on Monday 26 September. Learn more about the support we provide.
As an international student you may need a visa to study in the UK. The visa you need will depend on whether you’re applying from inside or outside the UK. Check what visa you need and how to apply on our Visa and Immigration pages.
