Ella Langston

2nd Year Occupational Therapy, Rutland, Leicester

York St John University is a home away from home. I always look forward to coming back to York. YSJ is such a nice place to be, you can do so many things and have so many opportunities that I don’t think you get at many other places.

The experiences I’ve had in my 2nd year have given me an opportunity to ‘spread my wings’. 1st year was very much a comfort blanket and a time to find your feet, so I didn’t join a sports group or society, I didn’t want to be too overwhelmed. This year I’ve become a Chair of School, been part of a sports club and continued to be a Student Ambassador due to the networks I set up last year.

I don’t regret having not done anything in my first year. The way I did it was right for me because I had a year to become comfortable.
