Tim Holmes

3rd Year Business Management and Finance, Wakefield

A lot of the universities I went to were quite intimidating and it was due to the size, I felt like I would get lost in the sea of people, but I loved YSJ because I felt like I would actually be a name rather than just a face. I came to an Open Day and the atmosphere and the friendly campus environment was great. The rowing club approached me at Freshers Fair, they said “You’re tall, join rowing”. Now I’m the President of the Rowing Club.

Joining rowing was the best thing I could have ever done. I was quite shy when I moved in as a Fresher, but looking back over my three years, joining a sport or society was the best thing I could have done.
