On this course you will learn the basics of filmmaking techniques and styles.
Our film course is structured in 2 phases. You will start by exploring techniques including camera work, editing and scripting. You will look at styles such as documentaries, fiction and experimental films. After watching examples you will test some of these techniques through creative exercises.
During the second part of the course you can put the techniques you have learnt into practice. You will write, plan and shoot your own film.
Films produced by students have been used for promotional work within Converge and shared at conferences and events.
Course length: 8 weeks
On this course you will produce a multimedia journalism piece on a story of your choice.
During the course you will develop core skills in writing, mobile shoot and edit, audio and photography. Using these skills you will produce a piece of critical journalism. Our tutors will help you ensure your piece is legally sound, ethically informed and suitable for a wide range of digital audiences.
