Developing Trauma Informed Practice
This workshop is aimed at anyone working with people who may have been through traumatic experiences.
The aim of the workshop is to increase delegates knowledge and understanding of the impact of trauma and to explore ways to adopt a trauma informed approach to their practice.

Course information
Who should attend?
GPs, Practice Nurses, Acute care health staff, emergency responders, CPNs, Social Care Staff, mental health professionals, third sector organisations.
What will attendees learn?
Delegates will learn about the prevalence and impact of trauma on mental and physical health. They will learn how to identify someone who has been affected by trauma. Delegates will learn how to manage disclosure safely and explore ways to alter their practice in order to provide trauma informed care.
Course leader biographies
Dr Jennie Ormerod is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. Jennie works parttime in the NHS as the Lead Psychologist for a complex treatment service and parttime in private practice providing therapy, clinical supervision and teaching.
She has 20 years experience of working with complex trauma and previously worked as Clinical Lead of a Special trauma service for 10 years.
