York Business School
All undergraduate degrees within the York Business School come with the opportunity to study a foundation year. Each foundation year is an integrated part of the degree programme and extends the 3 years of the traditional degree to 4 years.
The foundation year will suit those students who do not meet the standard entry criteria for the 3 year programme, but who wish to have the benefit of a University experience rather than study at College.
The programmes will suit mature learners returning to education as well as students completing level 3 (A level / BTEC etc) qualifications. In particular it may also suit students who lack confidence in their preparedness for University study.
As this is a University Course full Student Loans are available in the same way as they are for any of our 3 year degree programmes. It is also possible for students to undertake a year in industry, although this will increase the degree length to five years.

Business and Economics BA (Hons)
I wanted to go to a university that was quite small but also had a good student experience in a vibrant city. I chose York St John University because it seemed like a really nice place to study and the talks with lecturers on the Open Day were good. I am currently enjoying the Responsible Business module of my course as it discusses issues that have a political, philosophical, sociological and economic nature.
