Please join us for the official launch of Terra Two: An Ark for Off-World Survival on Friday 29 September in Quad South Hall from 6.00pm – 7.30pm.
The Terra Two project is a digital ark(ive) gathering critical and creative responses to science fiction in order to influence the first human settlement off-world: https://yorkstjohnterratwo.com. Its aims are to seed research and creative outputs, to bring enjoyment and inspiration to readers, viewers and listeners, and to contribute to the welfare and preservation of our species and the many species indigenous to planet Earth, Terra One!
Poet and science fiction writer Luke Kennard will give a short presentation and officially launch the project, and successful contributors to Terra Two—YSJ staff members, students and invited guests—will share extracts from their creative and critical submissions.
The most recent submissions to Terra Two will be released on the Monday leading up to the launch, including a short story by Luke Kennard. Luke Kennard's novel The Transition will be available for sale and signing on the night: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2017/feb/10/the-transition-luke-kennard-review-gentrification.
We look forward to welcoming you for wine and nibbles at 6:00, in Quad South foyer, followed by presentations from 6:30 in Quad South Hall on the 29th of September!
