Beyond the Vote

York St John University is proud to host this major three-day festival event featuring exciting talks, workshops, and opportunities to learn more about women’s history. Come and join us as we celebrate the centenary of women gaining the vote in 1918, and as we reflect on the challenges facing women 100 years later.

Throughout the weekend, the main foyer of the De Grey building will be an information station and activity centre. Drop in for a coffee, and collect an events schedule, visit our Victorian campus to learn about some of the first female YSJ students, and pick up some information about some of the charities working with the Festival. You might even meet a Suffragette!

Most of the events are FREE and there are a range of activities to suit the whole family. Want to know more? Follow us on Twitter @beyond_votefest or contact the festival organisers Dr Anne-Marie Evans and Dr Elodie Duché.

More information can also be found on the Festival blog
