From history to film, and literature to politics, 1984 stands as a pivotal year that continues to shape our understanding of the contemporary world. This online symposium will critically examine the impact, relevance, and legacy of 1984 (broadly defined).

Possible topics for exploration include, but are not limited to:

• Political and Social Movements
• Literary and Cultural Productions
• Technological Advancements
• Historical Perspectives
• Global Perspectives

This symposium is part of the ongoing activities of the 1980s International Research Network, convened by Dr James Cooper (York St John University, UK) which has been bringing international scholars together for nearly two years. We welcome submissions from scholars and researchers across all disciplines.
