Please come and join us for this fascinating Inaugural Lecture.
This presentation examines the intersection of research and practice in sustainable tourism, focusing on nature-based tourism and ecotourism in protected areas. Drawing on empirical studies of visitor preferences, environmental attitudes, and pro-environmental behaviour, it highlights cultural differences between Chinese and Western ecotourists. The presentation also explores the application of academic theories in large-scale projects, such as rebuilding tourism at the Wolong National Nature Research - Giant Panda Nature Reserve, Sichuan, China. By bridging theoretical insights with practical implementation, this discussion provides a roadmap for advancing sustainable tourism and contributing to the global discourse on conservation and ecotourism.
There will be a drinks reception after this event.
