Mark’s York St John journey:

“My journey at York St John has been one of self-discovery.  Whilst at the University I learnt a lot about myself as a person and who I wanted to become.  Attending York St John University has allowed me to improve myself as a person and my skills as a Product Designer.  Additionally I have had some amazing experiences and made great friends/connections which will last for years to come.

“I think what makes my York St University experience stand out is the experience I gained whilst studying. In my second year I started my first design job at a local company called Playscheme; creators of bespoke timber playground equipment.  As a part time designer, I learned many valuable skills and lessons which, have set me up for going into industry.

“Additionally in my Third year, I won Autodesk’s design for Automotive competition, thanks to the skills I learnt at York St John and Visiting Lecturers such as Steve Parkinson, who told me to enter the competition.  Winning this competition saw me appointed as an Autodesk Student Ambassador which has led to my current position as a Certified Instructor.”
