"You are seen and valued as an individual. It is a diverse campus with people from all over the world, with all sorts of backgrounds and experiences. I love that!"
Petra's York St John story:
"I came to York St John just over six years ago to do an undergraduate degree in Christian Theology. I was so excited, but also apprehensive, leaving my country (Sweden), selling the car, the furniture, giving up a permanent job that I really quite liked and being twice as old as most other students. But I am SO grateful that I came!
"During my three years of undergraduate studies and three years of part-time MA studies at York St John I have learned so much and been continuously challenged and inspired by the brilliant, warm and highly dedicated academic staff. I feel I have really been seen as a person here and everybody wants you to excel and do the best you possibly can. I am so grateful to have been able to finish the BA with a 1st and the MA with a Merit, less than a percent off the Distinction.
"The community feeling of the University is obvious and really helps you feel at home and get involved in things. Everybody is intent on giving you all the resources and support you need to be and achieve the best you ever can in your studies and as a person. And there is so much care and support available for the whole person. You are seen and valued as an individual. It is a diverse campus with people from all over the world, with all sorts of backgrounds and experiences. I love that!
And the fact that the university is located at the heart of beautiful York is a glorious bonus!"
