Agreed work plan
How sessions will work and what we expect from you.
We provide support for students with Disabled Students Allowances (DSA) funding. The agreed work plan guides students on their specialist tuition or specialist mentoring.
Attending your session
Sessions, where possible will be at the same day and time for each appointment. Where possible these will be confirmed during the sessions, ready for the next appointment and appointments must be arranged and accepted at least 48 hours before the session date.
A meeting request will be sent by your Tutor or Mentor via email. You can accept the invite through your student email. If the invite has not been accepted 2 days before the sessions, we will assume you no longer require the session.

Please note that the YSJ policy states that the YSJ email system is to be used unless there is an accessibility issue.
Cancellations are to be made at least 24 hours before the session is due to take place. If a cancellation occurs after this time, a rearranged session for that particular appointment cannot be made. If you need to cancel a session with less than 24 hours' notice please email your tutor or mentor letting them know you will not be able to attend and why. Please be as specific as you can. To cancel or rearrange your session, please email your Tutor or Mentor directly.
Missed sessions (1.4)
If you miss 2 support sessions (unattended/late cancellation) across any non-medical help (NMH) within a term, you will be asked to contact the team leader to discuss your support requirements.
This supportive conversation will help determine if there are barriers to you accessing your support and to help you re-engage in your sessions.
Additional support (3.4)
If you require additional support to your original funding agreement, this will be referred to the team leader who will liaise with your Disability Adviser.
All sessions with your Tutor or Mentor will be in accordance with your agreed work plan.
All sessions are confidential. Any remote sessions should be undertaken from a quiet and confidential space without anyone else present in the background. If you are concerned that you do not have a confidential space available and would like to book a room in Holgate please email SID@yorksj.ac.uk.
Confidentiality will only be broken where there is a concern of immediate harm to yourself or others (emergency). If we think it might be helpful to share information with anyone else, we will discuss this with you, and only with your consent.
If you are delayed
If you are running late, please let your Tutor or Mentor know via email or phone as soon as possible. Any time lost due to being late cannot be made up elsewhere. If your Tutor or Mentor has not heard from you 15 minutes after the start time of the session it will be considered unattended.
During your session (1.11), (4.2)
The length of the session will be arranged in agreement with you. At the start of each session there will be time to review what is planned and raise any issues you wish to discuss.
As Tutors and Mentors we will undertake regular reviews of support sessions to see what is working for you and what you feel could use more development. A timesheet must be signed at the end of every session or an email confirmation provided for remote sessions.
