Course Content

This one-day practical workshop is aimed at clinicians new to splinting and/or those who want to practice basic splinting techniques in a safe learning environment. Participants will have the opportunity to fabricate a range of low-temperature static thermoplastic splints.

These may include:

  • Night Resting Splint
  • Thumb Splint
  • Wrist extension splint

The focus of the day will be on developing practical skills: reflection and evaluation will be a core component of the day.

Participants are encouraged to bring along their own mobile devices to  take photos of the splints fabricated on the day. This will enable participants to reflect on their learning  and consider how they can implement these practical skills to their clinical practice.
