iMovie1: Making films using iMovie and Keynote

iMovie1: Making films using iMovie and Keynote

Prior knowledge: None

ILS have a large collection of iPad minis available to borrow. This course uses these to make a complete film with captions.

This course includes:

  • Recording video in iMovie
  • Assembling and trimming clips
  • Adding slides from Keynote
  • Adding voice commentary
  • Exporting the finished film
  • Uploading to the media library

MovieMaker1: Essentials

MovieMaker1: Essentials

Prior knowledge: None

An alternative tool to make films is the loan PC laptops available from self service machines. This course covers all of the basic skills required to record and edit films using MovieMaker which is available on those laptops.

This course includes:

  • Recording video in MovieMaker
  • Assembling and trimming clips
  • Adding captions
  • Adding voice commentary
  • Exporting the finished film
  • Uploading to the media library

Media1: Getting started with Media Library

Prior knowledge: None

An introduction to playing back from and uploading to the Media library.

This course includes:

  • Accessing the library
  • Uploading videos
  • Embedding videos in other places

Coach1: Coach's Eye essentials

Coach1: Coach's Eye essentials

Prior knowledge: None

Coach's Eye is an app running on the ILS mini iPads which enables video to be annotated with drawings, shapes and slow motion, and commentary to be added. Uses include analysing sports, dance and interview techniques.

This course includes:

  • Recording video
  • Importing video
  • Adding annotations and commentary
  • Exporting analysed video
  • Uploading to YSJ media library or YouTube

Audacity1: Getting started with Audacity

Audacity is a free, open source program that allows multi-track audio editing and mixing.

This course includes:

  • Introduction to the workspace

  • Exporting to MP3

Create videos at your desktop using our screencasting software Screencast-o-matic

This course includes:

  • Recording desktop and/or webcam video
  • Make edits
  • Re-recording
  • Add annotations, overlays and more
  • Producing and uploading finished videos
  • Managing Screencast-o-matic files
