Off Campus Access to Resources

Many of the electronic library resources the University subscribes to are available over the internet to students and staff who are not on campus. There are two systems for granting access to these resources:

  • OpenAthens - you will be prompted to login via OpenAthens when you follow certain links on our Library Catalogue and Database list. Alternatively you may need to login when you go direct to a resource off-campus. However, we recommend that you access resources via the ILS website.
  • EZProxy - this relies on you following a particular link, which makes it appear that you are on campus. It means that you may not be able to access a particular resource if you go direct to the site, rather than following a link from the York St. John catalogue or web site.

Because there are two systems, you might need to log in twice in any session, but all you need for both is is an internet connection, and your university username and password.
