Applying for your CAS for London Campus students
A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is a unique letter/number code which will enable you to apply for a Tier 4 visa. York St John University will become your sponsor in the UK after we issue you with a CAS.
When can I apply for a CAS?
You can apply for your CAS after you have received your unconditional offer and after your tuition fees deposit has cleared in University accounts. All degree programmes require a deposit of 50% of the first year's tuition fees. Please refer to the Student Financial Regulations for more detailed information about deposit and payment requirements at the University.
PLEASE NOTE: we do not issue CAS more than 3 months in advance of a course start date. For example: if your course starts in September, we will not issue CAS earlier than June.
How do I apply for a CAS?
You will need to complete the Pre-CAS Application and Declaration Form (PDF, .2MB) and submit it to visa@yorksj.ac.uk
How and when will I receive my CAS?
Your CAS will be sent to you by e-mail. You do not have to submit the CAS e-mail with your visa application, the CAS number itself is the only thing required for your Tier 4 visa application.
We have a 48-hour turnaround standard for CAS issuance, but we aim to get them issued as quickly as possible. Please note: if your CAS application is received on a Friday or if we are missing any documents, there may be a slight delay with issuing your CAS.
Any questions?
