Accommodation and Amenities

A variety of standard and en-suite accommodation is available throughout the summer. Costs of standard accommodation will be included in the programme fee but additional charges apply to en-suite options. All the University’s accommodation is either on our city centre campus or within easy walking distance.

Costs and Group Size

The total cost per student is £1300 for all programmes except Football which is £2500. For institutions wishing to send a group,we offer one free faculty place per 10 fee-paying participants. 

Programmes will only run with a minimum of 10 students.

Inclusive Activities

Our aim is that fees for the Summer School will be as inclusive as possible; inclusive of pick up and drop off at Manchester Airport, accommodation, tuition, the majority of accompanied visits and local transport where required, welcome and farewell dinners in a York restaurant. Details of proposed cultural visits are provided in the sample schedules.

Please note that the fee does NOT cover any necessary visas or flights.


Subject to our requirements on minimum group size, our Summer Schools run from the middle of June to late August. Our illustrative schedules start on Sunday and end on a Saturday, however we may be able to revise scheduling to suit your transport plans providing that the basic format of two weeks is retained. Please contact us to discuss this option.
