Inside Look Programme

With only half of graduates working in a field related to their degree, the Inside Look Programme will give you an inside look into multiple sectors and employers.

By partnering with employers in various sectors, you can get first-hand experience of company culture, career paths and opportunities. You can also network with key stakeholders.

You can interact with employers related to their degree or engage with employers out of pure interest and passion.

Career Fairs

London Career Week is open to students from every discipline and level of study. This intensive career development week is designed to help you build new skills, knowledge and gain accreditations. The activities, events and workshops will add to your CV and personal development.

Each year we also organise a number of targeted Career Fairs in London and York. You will have access to a range of employers across different sectors to find out about placements, part-time work and graduate jobs.

Industry Opportunities

Enhance your employability with industry experience. Many employers use internships and placements as a way to encourage you to consider them as an option after graduating. They are also a way for you to apply the knowledge and skills you have developed during your degree.

You can gain industry experience through the following ways:

  • Placements
  • Short Internships
  • Industry Projects

We provide advice and guidance to help you secure your placement. Your Placement Adviser will support you during your placement and you will remain a student with access to all the university’s services and support. Your successful placement will be included on your degree certificate.

Career Events

Our broad programme of events covers all your careers needs. Learn about making career choices, networking, industry insight and skill development. As a student in London, you will have access to events hosted both in London and York, including:

  • Sector specific masterclasses
  • Company presentations
  • Networking events
  • Career development workshops

Volunteering

We offer support to all students and recent graduates interested in volunteering opportunities. We also encourage our students to pursue their own volunteering project ideas. Whatever your interest, we aim to guide you to an experience that will further develop and enrich you as a member of society.
