PhD Student - Creative Writing
Art trained originally, I spent fourteen years teaching in Secondary and Special Needs schools in Essex and Yorkshire before moving into HE advisory work with the Open University and what was Leeds Metropolitan University. Following my MA in Literature Studies (Merit) at YSJU I made contact with staff involved in the film area and was encouraged to apply to do a Practice-led doctorate.

Research
I am adapting four of Thomas Hardy’s short stories and creating one original for a five episode TV mini-series. All the stories come from the dark side of Hardy; the series to be titled: The Haunting of Mr Hardy.
Publications
I have recently written a chapter on a forthcoming book concerned with adaptation studies and included a script for a 30 minute screen adaptation of Thomas Hardy's short story The Withered Arm.
