What We Offer

At York St John University, we offer a variety of support and skills development for research students at all stages of their degrees.

Our Research Skills Development Programme covers the whole of research journey, including project planning, publishing, seeking funding, and presenting research. Our annual research conferences – Research Reflections, and Postgraduate Research Conference – are an excellent opportunity for research students to present their work to peers in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. Research students are encouraged to join monthly writing mini-retreats and overnight writing retreats to concentrate on a particular piece of work and discuss their progress with academics and other research students. In addition to research and transferable skills training, post-transfer PhD students (2nd year and onwards full time) can access teaching training and once trained those who wish to may get the opportunity to become involved in teaching within the University.

If you would like information on the research degrees that we offer, please see: the Research Degrees Offered webpage.
