I joined York St John University in 2018 after spending three years with Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand, where I taught courses such as Information Security, IT Service Management, and Network Administration. I was also a visiting lecturer at NorthTech, New Zealand, for two years teaching Advance networking and Distributed Systems. Before doing my Ph.D. I taught Internet Security at Bayero University, Kano, for three years. I did my Ph.D. in the area of Trust-based protocols for wireless mobile networks,  a master’s in network security and a bachelor in computer science. My main research interests are in the area of Trust-based security models, security and design issues in IoT, Anonymous communication and secure packet-oriented network protocols.

Teaching

3CB105 - Internet of Things 

This Module introduces students to general concept of IoT, Machine to Machine communication and exposes students to the design, development and evaluation of IoT system and solutions. The module covers aspect of IoT security, data analytics and research topics in IoT.  

2CB103 - Networking

This module introduces students to underlying network infrastructure; network management and administration; network traffic analysis, engineering and architectures. The module was designed to cover computer networking in a layered approach in a “top-down manner” using Internet as example.

1CB107 - Technology in Context

This module exposes students to emerging technologies, professional ethics and responsibilities, introduction to digital forensic and investigation, Classical Symmetric and A symmetric Ciphers. The module covers the aspect of Linux administration and introduction to Shell scripting.

Research

My main research interests are in the area of Trust-based security models, security and design issues in IoT, Anonymous communication and secure packet-oriented network protocols.
