Having previously worked as an Inclusion Manager/SENDco across schools in North Yorkshire, I joined York St John in 2018 and teach Inclusion and SEND modules across a range of programmes within the School of Education. In addition, I am Module Director to the newly validated MA in Special Educational Needs and Inclusion as well as the National SENCO Award programme.

I received my BA degree from the University of Reading, going onto gain my PGCE at Hull University. Since joining York St John, I have successfully completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Throughout my career I have had a strong interest in supporting the most vulnerable children in education, as well as their families. From my practice, I am acutely aware of the importance of having highly skilled SEND practitioners with knowledge of issues relating to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEN/D). I am also an Academic Tutor and Link Tutor.
