Links with schools and colleges

We have long established links with schools and colleges and place an emphasis on supporting students to find out more about our courses and the options that are available to them. Stuart Jesson, Admissions liaison for Theology and Religious Studies, visits organisations to provide a flavour of what University life is like and share more information on the courses which are available from the Department of Theology and Religious Studies. If you would like to arrange a visit please contact Stuart using the details below:

What our Schools and Colleges say:

“Developing a partnership with York St John University is a crucial step in enlightening sixth form students about the reality of university life. Students between 17 and 18 years old are embarking on the challenge of writing effective UCAS statements and taking responsibility over making important decisions about their futures. Inviting the Faculty of Education and Theology into College encourages students to start asking relevant questions not only about lectures and work load but also university life as a whole. The visit included a mock lecture, a discussion about university life and a valuable question and answer session. Having this connection with the university allows students to gain a real glimpse into university whilst still being in an environment that is familiar to them. University is a considerable change in students’ lives and I believe anything that will help bridge the gap between College and University is of great importance to my students.”
