Research in Humanities, Religion & Philosophy

The School of Humanities, Religion and Philosophy is home to a thriving, stimulating and innovative  research culture.

Research in the School is organised around the core discipline areas of History, Geography, Theology, Religious Studies and Philosophy, Political Science, English Literature, Creative Writing and Media Studies. The School also has two virtual research centres: The Centre for Religion in Society and The York Centre for Writing.

We have undertaken research in collaboration with a range of external partners in academia, professional and government bodies, NGOs and religious communities and organisations both locally, nationally and internationally.
