Changes to our services
We want to help you access our services as safely as possible.
We have developed online and contactless ways for you to use your library. We have made changes to library spaces and how we work so that you can keep getting the support you need. This page will tell you how services now work and what safety measures are in place.
Our web pages are being regularly reviewed and updated to reflect the latest information on our services and their availability. If you have questions please email us at email@example.com
We are currently operating revised opening hours. This lets us make sure you are safe.
Our Click and Collect service provides you with access to books which are not available electronically. All you need to do is place a reservation for the item you need on the Library Catalogue.
Books will be quarantined for 72 hours after they are returned to reduce the chance of contamination and it is not currently possible to browse for items on the shelves in the library. You can still look for books online using our Library Catalogue.
Study spaces must be booked online before use and only 1 student can use them at a time.
If you do not take up your space within 15 minutes it will become available on the booking system for others to use.
Due to distancing measures there will be less spaces available, this includes PC study spaces. There will be cleaning stations in the library so that you can clean study spaces before and after you use them.
From the end of September, you will be able to request laptops via our Click and Collect service. When you borrow a laptop you will be able to keep it for 24 hours.
If you need the laptop for a little longer, it will automatically renew for a further 24 hours. You must then return the laptop to the Library.
Reduced contact points
To control the spread of infection we have reduced the need to use touchscreens. You can borrow books by scanning your student card. We have adapted our printers to release print jobs automatically after scanning your student card.
Our Library and Learning staff are available in the library to help you. We ask you to observe physical distancing and stand behind any screens we have at our desks.
Hand sanitiser and cleaning
Hand sanitiser will be provided at the library entrance and at locations inside. Our Cleaning teams will keep busy areas clean during the day. Cleaning stations will be provided so that you can clean study spaces before and after you use them.
The Student Kitchen
The Student Kitchen will be closed.
Soft furniture like sofas and beanbags will not be available.
