The Contemporary Religion MA offers a varied and exciting programme taught by experienced, research-active academics. You will deepen your knowledge and understanding of the subject and be challenged intellectually, as you engage with a range of subjects related to religion in today’s world. The course is designed to develop your research and critical thinking skills in order to equip you for future employment or further academic study.
This doctoral qualification allows you to research particular aspects of church ministry or mission, be they related to your own professional role, to your particular tradition, or to Christian ministry more generally. You can draw on a range of theological and social-scientific disciplines to explore topics in a practical and relevant way that can impact your ministry and the church more widely.
This new doctoral qualification is designed specifically for religious leaders from non-Christian backgrounds or people working in para-religious organisations such as faith-based charities or NGOs. You can explore religious practice, including religious leadership, in particular faith traditions, as well as the place of religion in society more generally.
Our Religion in Society MA will engage with the theoretical study of religion and belief whilst examining the complex connections between religion and society. It offers a distinctive and flexible pattern of study for students interested in the current role, representation and function of religion in society today.
