Postgraduate Scholarships

We are pleased to be able to offer a number of scholarships for our Postgraduate courses. Please carefully check the criteria before applying to avoid disappointment. It will be possible to apply for more than one scholarship, but applicants will only be offered one award. Teacher Education Legacy

York St John University is delighted to have received a legacy gift from an alumnus. The legacy will support a number of mature students wishing to further their studies in teacher education.

Who can apply?

This fund will support up to 7 places on teacher education programmes including PGCE students, MA Education students and those wishing to undertake an a doctorate relating to teacher education.

York St John University Educational Postgraduate Award (x 7 awards)

50% discount on tuition fees for one of our MA programmes in the School of Education or the first year of a Research Degree in Education. The focus of research must be related to teacher education.

Eligibility

  • Must be starting in September 2017.
  • Must have been accepted on one the York St John University MAs based in the School of Education or Education Based Research Degrees.
  • Must have firmly accepted the offer from York St John at the time of the scholarship application.
  • Must be eligible to pay Home or EU rate tuition fees.
  • Must be aged 25 or over.

We will require applicants to fill out a short form with their personal details and also to complete a statement of no more than 500 words. The statement should include:

  • How will gaining this award help you when starting the course?
  • Are there any particular circumstances or barriers to you starting your course that this will help you overcome?

Applications and supporting statements to this scholarship fund must be submitted by 1 July 2017.

We may wish to interview candidates as part of the scholarship selection process.

Postgraduate scholarships

York St John is offering a number of postgraduate scholarships to students starting a Masters level course in September 2017.

2017/18 Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship for Masters Students

York St John University is offering seven £3000 scholarships to students from the UK & EU who will be starting a full time Masters course in September 2017.

This award is available to all applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • Must have UK or EU fee status
  • Must have accepted an offer for a full time Masters course at York St John University at the time of application. (Unfortunately, we cannot offer this award to applicants who are coming to study Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Counselling.)

We will require applicants to fill out a short form with their personal details and also to complete a statement of no more than 500 words. The statement should include:

  • How will gaining this award help you when starting the course?
  • Are there any particular circumstances or barriers to you starting your course that this will help to you to overcome.

Applications and supporting statements to this scholarship fund should be submitted by 1 July 2017.

York St John University is also offering three £3000 scholarships to students from outside of the UK and EU who will be starting a full time Masters course in September 2017.

Applicants who meet the following criteria can apply for this award:

  • Must be from a non-EU country
  • Must have accepted an offer for a full time Masters course at York St John University at the time of application. (Unfortunately, we cannot offer this award to applicants who are coming to study Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Counselling.)
