Academic excellence? A welcoming and safe environment? The vital support to help them start a successful career? Our aim is to provide all the above, but also that our students should grow - academically, socially, professionally and in confidence - and York St John University is a place where they can do just that. We have been supporting people to achieve their ambitions for over 175 years. Established in 1841, York St John University is a thriving academic community dedicated to supporting students and preparing them for the future.

Support and wellbeing
York St John University is known for its caring, friendly environment, and our students become part of a real community. Supporting someone through the university process and during their time at university can be exciting but daunting time. The University has excellent support services in place for any help students may need. From advice about finances to support with wellbeing, the student support teams are here to provide guidance and support for all our students.
Workshops and tutorials are available for those who need to improve study skills such as academic writing, presentation skills or time management. Support groups are also available for those who may feel extra pressures in settling into university life, for example care leavers, mature students, those who are the first in their family to go to university or LGBT+ students.
