Biomedical Science BSc (Hons)

UCAS course code: 7Y63   Duration: 3 years full-time | 5 years part-time

Biomedical Science is the study of human disease, looking at the causes of disease and the effect on the normal structure and functions of the human body.  Biomedical scientists perform key roles in the NHS and private healthcare services, using scientific knowledge and laboratory skills to diagnose patients. Now accepting applications for first year entry. However, due to popular demand we are unable to accept applications for people wishing to transfer into second or third year.


Biomedical Science (with placement) BSc (Hons)

This 4 year programme allows you the opportunity to undertake a placement year in an NHS/industry laboratory, before returning to your final year. You will study detailed biological process in healthy/disease states and gain a clear understanding of associated molecular, cellular and tissue changes. Through frequent and applied laboratory sessions, you will enhance your theoretical, analytical and practical skills that will be consolidated during your placement year, enhancing your employability.


Occupational Therapy BSc (Hons)

UCAS course code: B930   Duration: 3 years full-time

Help people engage in their everyday occupations, through enabling them to lead a fulfilling and healthy life. Our Occupational Therapy degree is inclusive, innovative and transformative, using current evidence-based concepts, practice and a mix of contemporary and traditional learning approaches.


Physiotherapy BHSc (Hons)

UCAS course code: B160   Duration: 3 years full-time | 6 years part-time

Physiotherapists are professionals who use clinical and reasoning skills and knowledge to aid in the diagnosis and rehabilitation of patients with acute and chronic conditions at all ages. Physiotherapy at York St John University offers the advantage of studying in a small cohort within a student-centred environment.  This programme aims to produce high calibre, successful Physiotherapy graduates who are fit for purpose and practice.   BHSc (Hons) Physiotherapy is now closed whilst we review our current applications. Nutrition BSc (Hons)*

UCAS course code: N400   Duration: 3 years full-time | part-time options available on request

Nutrition represents one of the most significant challenges for science and human society. In many industrialised countries and fast-growing economies, obesity and its consequences are major challenges to health, whilst at the same time, anorexia is a major theme in mental illness and UNICEF estimates that undernutrition contributes to half of the deaths reported in children less than 5 years of age. Understanding human nutrition is fundamental to addressing and solving these pressing issues.
