At York St John we read thousands of personal statements each year and find that students often overlook the importance of out-of-school activities. Yet these activities demonstrate valuable skills such as team work, passion for a subject, organisational skills, initiative and commitment.
Many talented young people may miss out on their chosen university or course because they have failed to demonstrate how their personal interests have helped them develop different skills.
We have created resources to give GCSE and A Level students, their teachers and parents tips and advice on creating personal statements and CVs which stand out, using evidence of personal interests, hobbies and part time jobs.
How to stand out
Hear from our Admissions Officer and some of our students. They will show you how to make your UCAS personal statement stand out and make your university application successful.
