3rd Year Human Geography, Wimbledon, London
I went to visit YSJ on the open day and it was amazing and such a beautiful place to visit.
In my 1st year I had a pretty rough time - my dad passed away in November which meant I had to fly back to the Philippines, missing 3 weeks of University. This was crucial in getting to know people especially at the start of University. I didn’t have the opportunity to grieve in the way I wanted to, but I learnt how to cope.
Coming to YSJ gave me the opportunity to meet and get to know people, people like Francis who helped me through this time where I didn’t really know what was going to happen. I learnt how to persevere. I look back now and I’m proud of what I’ve done and what I’ve gone through, and it’s made me the person I am today.
I’ve had the best time. I’m very happy to be at this University with the support system I’ve had. I wouldn’t change it at all.
I’ve become a better person because I’ve learnt what is going to be good for me. I’ve learnt how to carry on and I know there will always be something in front of me that I can look forward too. These past two years, even though it’s been difficult, I’ve had the best time. I’m very happy to be at this University with the support system I’ve had. I wouldn’t change it at all.
