The best thing about studying Economics is the passion which my lecturers have. I always feel enthused to participate in seminars and feel confident to speak up within lectures. Often my lecturers stop me in the corridor to ask how my day is. York St John makes me feel like an actual person instead of just a number. It’s my second home. The community is very friendly and makes you feel accepted no matter your background. Everyone stands out and has a place within the University without feeling like you are in the shadows.

My favourite part of studying economics is that I am able to apply what I am learning within my course to events going on in the world. This gives me a greater understanding of both national and international economies. I also find the content within this course very interesting and thought provoking.

My favourite thing about my course is the way everything we study can be applied to situations in industry. The theories we learn during a lecture are applied to real examples in seminars and assignments through case studies. This means I know what I’m learning has value, and it helps me to understand the impact financial and economic decisions have.
