Events, Hospitality and Tourism Management

The course is very practical and gives a real insight into the world of events through the module design. I have really enjoyed some of the more academic modules too and can see how they can be applied into the world of work. It has really opened my eyes to what I am capable of doing. Many of our projects are based on real life situations and include the support from local businesses. York St John has some amazing connections within the wider community and encourages using those connections for further networking.With each module you can see how this is setting the foundations for careers in the business world. Whether this is thinking about the qualities of a good manager, how businesses need to operate ethically or marketing, there are many elements for those wanting a future in business or their own business.

I love the course because it gives you so much freedom to be creative in planning and executing your events. I love the flexibility to be able to market and plan an event of your choice, I’ve gained so much confidence through this module. Every lecture and seminar in events is so fun. The lecturers make you explore fun concepts and put them into practice, whilst being so supportive and friendly.
