Our people

The minds behind York St John University in London.

Chris has more than ten years of experience in higher education, including campus management. Her role is to facilitate and provide an effective, efficient and professional administrative support at the York St John campus in London.

Working closely with all departments at the York campus, Chris helps to ensure the two campuses work together smoothly and replicates services in London to create a vibrant and exciting environment for students and staff. 

Brandon joined York St John University in October 2019 and works as the Campus Administrator at the London Campus. His primary role is to provide support to students in London with the main aim of ensuring each student has an excellent experience whilst they are studying at the London campus.

Brandon also provides valuable support to the London team including working closely with academic staff to help maintain the Virtual Learning Environment and providing working accurately and aid this process when necessary.

Ruben joined York St John University in September 2019. He has over 12 years' experience in the capacity of Operations Manager in the publishing sector and over 5 years' experience as an IT Support Engineer. His experience has spanned Office Management including Health & Safety, Information Technology, Sales and Customer Support, Finance, and Stock Management.

Ruben’s role at YSJ London is to provide valuable IT support to Students, Lecturers, and Staff alike and also providing administrative support whenever required. He also works closely with York IT Department to ensure that any technical issues get resolved in an effective and efficient manner.

David has worked in higher education for over seven years across a range of sectors. In this time, he has developed strong industry relationships with multinational organisations and leading SMEs. David specialises in Employability Development and established the Advance to Perform Programme, which is a customizable student development program that allows students to measure and develop their employability in real time.

As Placement Manager for the London campus, he is responsible for the strategic direction of external engagement for industry opportunities.

Louise is committed to providing an outstanding learning environment and experience for all students to flourish, both professionally and personally, and to develop their entrepreneurial thinking and abilities. Louise has over 20 years’ experience as a senior leader in Higher Education which has included designing and delivering experiential, industry informed, award-winning curriculum initiatives and setting up new campuses, teams and university departments.

Through her experience as a recently qualified Professional Coach, Louise has enhanced and finessed her knowledge of initiatives that empower students through the development of their self-awareness, resilience, emotional intelligence, and confidence. As Director, Louise will build on the success and growth of the London Campus to provide a person-centred, transformational education experience that inspires creation and sustained growth of an innovative and connected community.

Louise has also worked in a variety of roles in the private sector and is a trustee board member for the National Association of University and College Entrepreneurs.

Mayuri is a passionate student recruitment executive with a strong background in Higher Education which includes marketing, consultative sales, recruitment – home and international, business development, and project management.

Mayuri has also been involved in the Higher Education sector for over 10 years and has extensive experience in student recruitment, admissions, Tier 4 immigration policy, developing and implementing conversion strategy, developing and managing the university’s agent network, and identifying and managing potential international markets.

Mayuri is committed to implementing the university’s strategic aims into achievable international recruitment and business development plans.

Mohsin has been involved in Higher Education for over eleven years, predominantly in the area of student recruitment and marketing (home and international). Mohsin started his career in 2004 on a graduate scheme at the Home Office Immigration & Nationality Directorate (now the UKVI), and by 2005 Mohsin was a fully qualified immigration caseworker based out of Lunar House in Croydon. Mohsin left the civil service in 2006 and joined the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) before embarking on the higher education path with Imperial College Business School.

Mohsin was appointed as Head of UEL’s International Recruitment team in 2014 and helped to rebuild UEL’s international profile through an innovative strategy that helped establish the university as a leading recruiter in London for graduate students from the United States. Mohsin was recently appointed as Head of International (London Campus) at York St John University, a new venture based in Barbican London.

Mohsin is also an elected member of BUILA (British Universities International Liaison Association) and has regularly represented the group in high profile lobbying events. Mohsin has also made various media appearances over the years including a recent BBC London piece highlighting the significant benefits international students bring to the UK.

Bryan is the MBA lead at York St John in London. He previously occupied the role of Associate Dean on two previous occasions and been a Reader in Organisational Behaviour and Management. Bryan previously worked in central Government, the NHS, local Government and at various academic institutions within the United Kingdom.

These include Edinburgh Napier, University of Westminster, University of Surrey, University of Greenwich and King’s College London. Consultant Editor, British Journal of Healthcare Management and Technical Adviser to the Shadow Health Minister (Scottish Parliament). He hold several visiting professorships.

Imad is also Head of the Business and Hospitality School, MA international hospitality management programme Manager at the London College of Contemporary Arts. Senior Academic, Quality and Curriculum Lead at the Berlin School Of Business and Innovation (Berlin, Germany). In addition, he is an external examiner for 3 universities in the UK as well as Uninettuno university in Rome (funded by the EU) and the Berlin School Of Business and Innovation (Berlin, Germany).

He is a senior corporate trainer for the account of various well-known multinationals organisations in the UK and abroad developing and organising training mainly in marketing, international business, customer satisfaction, leadership and digital marketing.

Imad is a founding member of the institute of customer management in the UK, working in different projects across 17 countries and is a charity project manager and corporate trainer at the National Algerian Centre (NAC) in London organising different successful programmes and working with the diversity programme schemes for the Mayor of London.

Neil Coade is a specialist management lecturer in global business, strategic management, international business law and risk management, business ethics, corporate governance, innovation, supply chain management, managerial economics, business ethics & corporate governance, HRM & talent management, global marketing strategy and organizational behavior.

He is also a researcher and author of several books that focus on how organizations can construct dynamic corporate environments to enhance employee performance, challenge global competition, and influence the business development strategy of an enterprise.

His teaching philosophy is based on the belief in the power of a student-focused approach that effectively links the theoretical understanding of business to practical knowledge of existing and new ideas.

Gaston Fornes completed his Post-Doctoral Studies at IE Business School (Spain) after receiving a PhD in Management from the University of Bath (UK). He also holds an MBA degree from Universidad Adolfo Ibañez (Chile) with a period of studies at the University of Southern California (USA), and a First Degree in Business from Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (Argentina).

He is Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Prof Fornes started his professional career at Citibank in 1993 and then funded what became a mid-sized company with operations in Chile and Argentina, sold in 2003.

Since 2005 he has combined academic and executive responsibilities, including the development of two new ventures. Also in 2005, he started to be professionally involved with China where in 2010, for his work in the development of local SMEs, he received the Liupan Mountain Friendship Award from the Ningxia Government, and then in 2014 he received the Foreign Expert Award from the Shanghai Government.

Also, in 2015 for his work on the economic and business relations between China and Latin America he was awarded the London School of Economics – Latin American Development Bank Fellowship. Dr Fornes’ work has been featured in mass media like CGTN, Fortune, RFI, the BBC, El Pais or Cinco Dias.

Dr Frank Forbes-Menson currently provides support to students on the MBA Capstone Research Project at York St John University London and delivers core MBA modules including Accounting & Finance, Marketing, and Data Analytics, Sustainable Perspectives of Business, Financial Planning Framework. 

After completing his Oxford University (OrielCollege) MSc ( Applied Economics) degree, Frank worked over 20 years as an Investment Banker for a number of blue chip banking institutions within the City of London such as the Zurich Banking Network, NatWest (including Coutts Private Banking) & the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, JP Morgan Chase Flemings as well as the Swiss and UK -based Mayfair Portfolio Management brokerage of international independent financial advisors.  Since 1997, Frank has worked as a Senior Lecturer in Accounting & Finance at the Westminster Business School supervising final year Business & Finance students.  

He permanently joined academia in 2009.

Gazi worked as an investment banker in the American investment Bank Lehman brothers, followed by Barclays Capital and UBS, Switzerland. Before joining York St. John University, he was a lecturer at the University of London and teaching institutions such as UCL, LSE, and Birkbeck under the University of London.

Previously, he was visiting lecturer at Exeter College, University of Oxford, Cass Business School, City University London, Paris Dauphine University, France. Surrey University, University of BATH, Regents University London, University of creative Art, University of Arts London, University of Wales, and so on. In addition, Gazi is also involved in the British Government consultancy project.

Presently he is a lecturer at York St. John University and is responsible for course design, module materials developments, deployment, and delivering high quality industry focused teaching to both MBA and MSc students.
