Paragon Research and Innovation Group - Summer Workshop 2024

Theme: Beyond the Classroom: A Workshop on Research and Industry Insights.

This is the first time that we are conducting this event where all of you get a chance to attend this program and get the opportunity to hear the industry people's experience and insights, expectations of the industry from freshers in getting graduate jobs, research collaboration with external universities, networking and expanding connections with alumni, SMEs, research talks on the innovation and its importance as well as you will also get a chance to participate in Oral/Poster Presentation.

Upon the successful presentation, the candidates will also get a certificate of appreciation, and one candidate will get the Best Poster Presentation Award selected by the technical committee.

Paragon Research and Innovation (PRI) brings together group of researchers in the fields of Generative AI (Gen AI), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, data science, and related fields.

The main goal of PRI is to encourage research activities from computer science and data science in York St John University. The second goal of PRI is to establish 'win-win' collaboration with industries and other University colleagues. We also welcome researchers from other relevant fields to foster strong collaborative research. 

PRI will promote creative research pedagogy, collaboration, open and friendly research culture within the group. Regular study sessions, group chats and brainstorming sessions will be held to stimulate new ideas, innovative thinking and creative thoughts on how to advance the research capabilities of group members.

PRI will continue to explore new methodologies and collaborations in the field of computer science and data science research to incubate impactful research outputs that can benefit York St John University and the wider research community.

  2. Enhancing CNN Models with Data Augmentation for Accurate Fertilizer Deficiencies and Diseases Identification in Paddy Crops.
  3. Histopathology Image Augmentation Using Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) Models for Breast Cancer Diagnostics.
  4. Tutorhand: Automated Feedback System for Early Detection of Mental Health Issues in Young adults Using Deep Learning Approaches and so on.
  5. Fake News Detection of a Realistic Social Media Platform using Machine Learning/Deep Learning Algorithms.
