Senior Lecturer: English Literature
I studied Philosophy before taking my second BA degree in English and American Literature. I taught at the Universities of Kent and London before coming to York St John University in 1993.
Much of my work is interdisciplinary in nature, and I teach across three BA programmes within the School of Humanities, Religion & Philosophy: English Literature, Film & Television Production and Media
I specialise in Shakespeare, Narrative Theory, Film Adaptation and Screenwriting.
My research interests include the impact of psychoanalysis on literary modernism, narrative consciousness in the work of Samuel Beckett, and the theory and practice of film adaptation.
