Degree apprenticeships

Work-based, vocationally-driven courses.

We work with employers to co-design our apprenticeship programmes and delivery models. This is to make sure they fit industry needs.

We offer intake points throughout the year, delivered from both our York and London campuses. A growing portfolio of national businesses use our courses to support their talent acquisition and upskill their workforce.

Our apprentices get cutting-edge and relevant training during a work-based degree apprenticeship. All apprenticeships are underpinned by the rigorous subject knowledge of a degree qualification.

As an apprentice, you will typically work full time and study part time. Our degree apprenticeship courses test academic learning and workplace capabilities. We offer industry-specific training and support throughout your learning. You will already be in employment before starting a degree apprenticeship. You will not have to pay course fees.

Our degree apprenticeships let you gain a degree while getting valuable workplace experience.

For the apprentice, this means you are earning while you are learning.

And for the employer, this means immediate benefits to your business. Employees develop their skills and apply their contextualised learning in the workplace.

Entry requirements

It is a requirement for all apprentices to have the equivalent of a GCSE grade C/4 or above in Maths and English to proceed with a degree apprenticeship.

Where no evidence of these qualifications (or higher level English and Maths) can be provided, applicants will be required to undergo a diagnostic test at this stage. Subject to passing the diagnostic test, applicants can continue to onboard and will receive training from the University via Runway Training to achieve the Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications within the duration of their apprenticeship, as a requirement of ESFA funding. Runway offers a very flexible approach and can deliver all their teaching online at a pace that suits your needs.

For most of our apprenticeships we support this on programme. However, due to the short length and demanding nature of the Senior Leader Apprenticeship, we request that applicants get these qualifications prior to onboarding with us.
