Ann M Green CBE, Doctor of Letters (honoris causa)

Ann Green served as Pro Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors of York St John University for three successive terms from 2011 to 2020. She led the University during a period of great change for the Higher Education sector. Working with three Vice Chancellors and chairing over 100 meetings, she shared a wealth of experience and business acumen, established over 30 years in financial services and leadership roles. The new Students’ Union building, the York St John University Sports Park and the newly completed Creative Centre were all developed under her guidance. Her board-level contributions also include Chair of the Royal Armouries, the Industrial Society, York Theatre Royal and the York Guildhall Orchestra. She was appointed CBE in 2010 for services to museums.
