Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

For entry onto a Foundation (year 0) plus degree (4-year programme), you must have WAEC with at least 3 grades at C or higher, including English language.

For direct entry onto year 1 of most of our undergraduate degree programmes, we will accept:

Completed Year 1 (level 100) of a degree course at a recognised Ghanaian university

GPA 2.6 or higher
Ordinary National Diploma/National Diploma (OND/ND) Minimum lower credit pass
Diploma from a Federal University Minimum lower credit pass
National Certificate of Education Minimum lower credit pass
Recognised International Foundation Programme Pass on all modules

English Language requirements

If English is not your first language you must show evidence of your English language competence.

For most courses, you should have IELTS level 6.0 (with no skill below 5.5) or an equivalent qualification. We will accept WAEC/NECO with C6 or higher in English language- an official scratch card for score verification may be requested.

Minimum entry requirements

Most degrees require an undergraduate degree from a recognised Ghanaian institution with minimum Second Class (lower credit). 

If a YSJU degree requires 2:1 for entry, you must have minimum Second Class (Upper Credit).
