I am Dr. Gayathri Karthick, a Lecturer, Postgraduate Research Supervisor (PGR), and Module Director from the School of Science and Health at York St John University, London. I am also an Employability and Maker's Space member, which assists students in securing internships and creative learning during their master's degree. I have 10+ years of experience in both organizational and academic settings. After completing my bachelor's degree, I gained four years of experience as a senior software engineer at Infosys, a major software firm in India. During my tenure there, I worked in Data Warehouse Automation Testing, which provided me with invaluable insights into industry practices. This experience allowed me to explore data analytics and develop a deep understanding of it in that domain. I also had the opportunity to train newcomers before the start of projects, marking the beginning of my journey in teaching with technology. I pursued my MSc and MPhil leading to a PhD in Computer Science from Middlesex University, London.
As part of my role, I deliver various modules, including Computer Science modules like User Centric Design (UCD) and AI and Data Science modules like Big Data in Cloud Computing. Before joining YSJ, I worked in esteemed academic institutions such as Middlesex University, Arden University, and St Patrick’s College, London.
Throughout my career, I have significantly contributed to scholarly discourse through impactful research publications in conferences, articles, and reputable journals. My research interests include Secure Cloud Environments, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Intelligent Media Edge Computing. My work has been published in high-profile international publications, including Springer Journals, the Journal of Reliable Intelligent Environments, the International Journal of Machine Learning and Cybernetics, the International Conference of ICC/IEEE/ACM, and Computational Intelligence. These publications highlight my commitment to advancing knowledge and my ability to address complex challenges with innovative solutions. Additionally, I am actively involved in funded projects such as QR and SAAR.
