Sustainable food
Sustainable food solutions for tomorrow.
Why sustainable food matters
We know that the climate crisis is going to lead to food insecurity and food shortages globally.
Extreme weather, such as droughts and flooding, is already leading to failed crops and low yields, both in the UK and internationally. It is vital we increase our resilience in local communities by growing our own food and making changes to food systems and diets.

What York St John is doing
The University is working to support the local food system and reducing supply-chain environmental impacts by working with local suppliers for catering and sourcing meat-free alternatives.
